Family-friendly Johnny Appleseed Festival will feature a new tent full of fun for kids and their parents hosted by William Chandler Peterson American Legion Post 171 at the Downtown Crystal Lake Main Street event on Sept. 30 from 9 am to 4 pm.

Honoring women in the military, Crystal Lake American Legion Post 171 and Galvanized Iron present Femmes of Rock at The Vixen in McHenry Saturday, May 6 at 8:30 pm.
Walk A Mile In Her Boots: Hand-Painted Boots Display
Various locations in McHenry and Crystal Lake
Businesses and retailers will display military boots handpainted by women veterans and their families to bring attention to Women Veterans and the high rate of PTSD and suicide by women veterans (250% higher than women who have not served in the military).
