Gold Star Remembrance Day
Come together in person to honor and remember McHenry County's brave heroes for Gold Star Remembrance Day. It's a heartfelt gathering where we pay tribute to those who've come from our communities and made the ultimate sacrifice from the First World War onwards. Expect inspiring moments, stories shared, and a chance to connect with others who cherish these memories. We will also be dedicating the McHenry County Gold Star Flag and Grave Marker. Let's unite to honor and celebrate courage, love, and legacy. Don't miss out on this meaningful day — see you there!
The doors will open at 12:00pm for people to browse the plethora of flag displays from the various eras. The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 pm and will last approximately 2 hours. Please note there will be a brief intermission.
Light snacks will be provided. Drinks are available for purchase.

Join American Legion Post 171 for our monthly meeting, meet fellow veterans, and get involved in serving our community.
Who can join?
Membership is open to veterans and current military members who have served at least one day of federal active duty since December 7, 1941, and meet The American Legion’s discharge requirements. Eligible National Guard and Reserve members are welcome too.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, the courage shown, and the service and sacrifice that followed. We remember the fallen. We honor those who served. We teach the next generation. We will never forget.

The 2025 Parade will educate and inform the community of the work of Legion Post 171 and encourage involvement and support.

The Lennon Project
The Lennon Project is a fundraising event in partnership with Raue Center for the Arts in Crystal Lake on Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m.
